What Is A BAIID Device?
Breath alcohol ignition interlock devices (BAIID) are sometimes referred to as "Blow and Go" devices. They are installed in automobiles to measure a driver's breath alcohol content (BAC) before allowing the engine to start. The automobile cannot be started if driver's BAC is above preset limit as defined by Secretary of Illinois. While operating the automobile, the BAIID will prompt driver to take random breath (rolling) test and records information for Illinois monitoring authorities.
